Sibusiso B. “Busi” Khumalo has been elected to serve as director of General Conference Youth Ministries for the 2025–2030 term during the 62nd General Conference Session of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Khumalo brings more than three decades of ministry experience, including 10 years in pastoral ministry and 21 years in youth, chaplaincy, and public campus ministries. He served as a departmental director for the Southern Africa Union Conference from 2003 to 2010 and for the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID) from 2010 to 2022.
His deep passion for youth ministry is rooted in the closing words of the Pathfinder Pledge: “By the grace of God, I will be pure, kind, and true.… I will be a servant of God and a friend to man.” Known for his energetic and compassionate leadership, Khumalo has worked to inspire and equip young people to grow spiritually and actively engage in the mission of the church.
He and his wife, Maipato, have been married for 30 years and have two children, Sihe and Side. Outside of ministry, he enjoys reading, running, and traveling.
Youth Ministries inspires and equips young people to develop a personal relationship with Christ and actively engage in church mission. It oversees Pathfinder and Adventurer clubs, youth evangelism, leadership training, and global initiatives that foster spiritual growth, service, and character development for the next generation of Adventist leaders.
